I made a $250 payday loan and agreed to repay on my pay date. I was contacted by phone, someone saying that I was late on my payment and I owed $700 because of penalities and late fees. I refused to pay that on a $250 loan. They threatened me saying if I did not pay that day, the interest was going to go up, a I was going to be served papers at work, and I would be reported to the credit bureau. I settled for $312. Then two days later, the my account was drafted for the original amout with the payday company. I called them and they said I had been scammed.

Update: 01/25/2012

I have the New York phone numbers of the people who contacted and hassassed me demanding payment. And I have the California phone number on my bank statement for the transaction.
