Britensure Scam
I believe a product I bought on the internet is a scam because:
-Product was faulty
-Terms&conditions were not clearly visible
-Unauthorized credit card payments taken
-Amount paid by card was more than on the invoice
-Complicated Returns procedure by phone – need to obtain approval code
-Customer services line continually engaged and now no longer exists
-No response from company to written correspondence
-Website t&c are not in line with my experience
-Other people are affected–see www.scambook
I signed up for a product on 12/11/11,a Britensure advert flashed onto my PC. I paid £4.95 postage -there was no indication that I was signing into an arrangement to receive further products nor did I authorize subsequent payments. However the dispenser of both syringe type bottles didn’t work. It was outside the 30 days return policy-I wrote it off as a scam to get rid of faulty merchandise.
A month later I received another pack. The cus.services number was continually engaged.I rang my cc company on the 16th and was told 69.95 had been deducted on my card on 12/12/11–my invoice stated £58.29.I since discovered on 6/1/12 that another £69.95 was deducted on 27/11/11.The advice I was given by the cc co was to try to return the goods. The procedure for returns is to call a telephone number to get an approval code & to call another number to cancel the arrangement.I have tried to call both numbers and after initially getting through you are held in a queue for ages.I tried again today and both numbers no longer exist.
I have written to Britensure 3 times but had no response.I also wrote to my cc company on the 29th and 6th.They say I am liable until I have cancelled my arrangement. They told me, on this 2nd call,to return the goods by recorded delivery so it can be tracked.I can’t get a refund from the cc company until it can be shown that Brit. have failed to reimburse me.
The cc rep I spoke to on the 6th Jan referred me to the Brit. website - t&c. If you look at the the terms on the website, they do not match my situation. I paid £4.95 not £6.95, my card debited 2 weeks after purchasing the product not 30 days and I paid £69.95 not £99.95”.
