It's happening here in the UK too. I ordered Ugg Nightfall boots in black online from a site that had 'UK' mentioned in it. Hence, I naievely thought it was a UK site. When my card didn't go through, I tried again and the same thing happened. So I tried another site and I got confirmation that I had placed an order. I then sent an e-mail to the first company checking that no payments hed gone through. I was told that they had not. However, I then got an e-mail assigning me 2 order numbers. Feeling somewhat panic-stricken at the prospect of getting 3 pairs of boots and, more importantly, paying for 3 pairs of boots, I tried to stop the boots from company 2 but was told they were on their way. (they are still on their way!). I then contacted my bank to check on recent payments and any in the pipeline. I was told about 2 pending payments for companies in China!! I'd thought I was buying from a trader in this country. At this point alarm bells started to ring and I suspected I was the victim of a scam. However, I was told by my bank that the payments had to go ahead. A couple of days ago, the boots from the Shanghai sh--- arrived. They look beautiful, they smell of leather and they are beautifully made. The trouble is that they are HUGE because the fir inside is very thin. As I am disabled and walk with a crutch, they would be very unsafe for me to wear. I have also discovered that Ugg only manufacture their Nightfall Uggs in chestnut whereas mine are black. On the website, they are also offered in chocolate and another colour too. In talking to my family and friends, I have found out that a large consignment of fake Uggs was impounded by customs just prior to Christmas. Additionally, I have found out that, although they are made in China, Genuine Uggs are never sold from there. Yet, I note that today these unscupulous traders are still advertising fake boots. I know that they are fake because most are advertising the Nightfall boots in colours other than chestnut. I feel so very angry. I could have accepted the fakes if they fitted because they were cheap. But they are no use to me and I can't send them back because I don't have an address to send them to. I suspect that, even if I could, the trader would deduct loads of money in administration fees - even if they gave me any money back at all. This is really hard for me because I am a pensioner and I don't get a lot of money. These boots were paid for with money I got for Christmas.
