After searching different skin care products, I found a consumer website that compared different products. They recommended several, one of them being Nue Science because they offered a "free trial" of their products. After reading reviews of the product, I decided to try the "free trial." I provided my information, but never received a confirmation of the order, receipt, tracking, number or any kind of communication from the company. I received the product about 2 weeks later and there was nothing enclosed advising that unless I returned it in 15 days, that I "signed up" for automatic billing. It didn't provide a return address, telephone number, or any written communications whatsoever. About 3 1/2 weeks later I was considering ordering more of the products so I did some additional research on the internet. It's at that time that I found a multitude of complaints regarding their "deceptive" advertising regarding the automatic billing. This is the first time I became aware that I was required to return the product or I would otherwise be charged $98 a month. I went back to their website to see how I missed that information. Every time I clicked on the "free trial" window it either didn't open, or I received an error code that said "404 - file or directory not found," or it linked me to another site called "stemcellskinrepair.com" I tried accessing the trial window from different computers and received the same results. I sent them two e-mails regarding this issue and didn't receive a response to either. On 12/27/11, they charged $98.16 to my account. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. The credit card company tried to initiate a three way call, but the recording said they were closed (we called at 8:00 p.m. eastern standard time and their recording said they closed at 9:00 p.m. eastern standard time). The following morning I called their customer service and explained the situation. After some conversation, they agreed to reverse the charge and cancel any further automatic billing.

  • I have had the same experince with NueScience. I ordered the product on 12/10 and they sent it by snail mail. They consider your trial to begin on the day you order. I used the product 1 1/2 weeks and attempted to return it. I talked to people in foreign countries who could not speak English. They could not tell me where to return the product. The company seems to change addresses and website locations often, and I too got several 404. I fianlly made contact with them on 12/27. They had been closed for Christmas, etc. They gave me permission to return my trial and gave me the RN#. However, within hours, they had charged my credit card for over $99. As I undestand it, I will have to pay shipping charges both ways if they send me product. Youcannot refuse a shipment and just send it back to them. They have your credit card. What else will show up charged to the card? I am requesting that my card company issue me a new card with a different number. I am filing compliants with the BBB, the FTC, and the Postal Inspection office. Conducting fraudalant business thorugh the mail is a Federal offense, so it seems. Do not fall for their free tiral. Once they have you credit card company ,they have you.
Here is what their agreement tells you-- what they do not tell you is that they will delay shipment and then drag their feet telling you how to return until the "trial time" is up, then they charge your credit card. They are scammers!
