I received a telephone call at my business today. An Asian accent/ speaking person names "Sharon" asked me "if I wanted to CANCEL my on line listing services for next year (2012" with their company called Local US pages on line. I said "YES I wanted to CANCEL 'next years on line service, because i never authorized a service with their company to begin with"....this woman went around AND around. Apparently the ONLY WAY she would accept "a formal cancellation-is IF/when i paid in full for 'their services provided the year before=$649.95" The only way I could CANCEL for 2012 was to pay for 2011! $649.95, and I told her that "I NEVER signed up with their company and I NEVER authorized their services in 2011, so why would I pay that bill?" Again she repeated that "the only way they would CANCEL billing me for 2012 is if/when i paid in full for 2011! "649.95"...this part of the conversation went around and around...and apparently the ONLY person who could "accept my CANCELLATION for 2012 was "her verifier", BUT I would need to agree/understand that their company would ONLY accept my cancellation for 2012 if/when i paid for 2011 in full" I asked for the NAME of her company: Local US pages on line, I asked for a telephone number for the company: she refused/ignored my request, i asked for a mailing address or physical location of that business- she ignored my request, ..I finally asked to be transferred to "her verifier" I was put On hold and then the call was dropped. i was disconnected.
So now my business "may" get a bill for a 2011 "service" I never authorized and one that I never wanted-and IF I do not pay their RANSOME of $649.95 their "services and charges will continue!!" this is horrible. I intend to contact an attorney and the BB Bureau deb kirk
