Merchant Freedom Network called to offer me a chance to work as a referral agent for their credit card processing company. Sounded legitimate and possibly quite lucrative. They asked for $279 to get started, I said that was too expensive, so they went down to $145. This would cover costs for website start-up, materials sent by post, etc. I was told that a marketing expert from another company (One Media/Web Media) that works on their behalf would call to give me more training, details about the job, and how to increase earnings. The person from Web Media called on 12/17/11, but instead of any training, I got hustled/somewhat pressured into giving him my credit and debit card details, so that he could determine whether or not I qualified for a "scholarship" into their
program that could bring me even more residual income. I agreed to letting him charge $500 on my debit card. At first he was trying to get TWO THOUSAND. Soon as our conversation ended, I immediately called my bank to try to stop the payment, but it was too late. Tried to call back but only answering machine. I sent emails with my receipt requesting my money back. Two days later, Merchant Freedom Network calls to see if I'm still on board. I told them I was no longer interested and didn't like how things went down with their "marketing company". They quickly distanced themselves from Web Media, stating that I should direct my questions to them (not MFN). Doubt that I'll ever see my money returned or any residuals. BEWARE- THESE GUYS ARE SLICK
