Because I paid my November $25 minimum monthly payment early to Walmart Financial on Nov 2 - the same day as the previous statement closing date - they applied the payment as a second Oct payment and charged me a late fee of $25, with a resulting increase in the Dec minimum payment due of $60. (usually it is $25 minimum/month)

After speaking to several phone reps, I was able to get the $25 late fee refunded, but they maintain that I did not make a payment in Nov, are therefore are classifying my account as PAST DUE, calling me even after I'd just spoken with a rep, and will not allow the Dec payment due to reflect refund. Bottom line is: I'm not sure I can make a $60 payment this month.

One rep said, "we do not accept early payments" & seconds later threatened that if I do not submit the Dec payment early, BEFORE the due date of Dec 24, I could be charged a late fee. So in fact, if I don't pay December early to the company that does not accept early payments, I'll be further penalized.

The truth is....I fully intend, as I have, to pay the $25, or even $35 that is rightfully due by Dec 24 - & would've already paid it if I wasn't forced into this no-win situation and continue to go back and forth with different phone robot reps who read scripts that contradict themselves.

Seems unfair that I am still penalized with having to make a higher Dec payment. I am just scraping by, meeting minimum payments. but this catch 22 is a vicious downward spin no matter what.

Seems just a few bucks to many people, I'm sure. But it's significant, and damaging, to me.

Anything I can/should do? Thanks for letting me vent.
