I just noticed an unauthorized charge on my credit card from CRCIncHelps.com, in the amount of $24.95. When I went to their "website," it's nothing more than one of those web pages you get when you've typed in a website incorrectly, and up comes a fake search page. In other words, it's not even a website! There's a phone number included in the information shown on my credit card statement, which I will be calling in the morning.

  • Follow up: I contacted the phone number for CRCIncHelps.com (1-866-931-4303), which was listed in the purchase description on my credit card statement. I spoke to a gentleman in the outsourced customer service department CRC uses to handle their calls. He was able to find the unauthorized charge using the amount charged, the company's name (CRCIncHelps.com), and the last four digits of my credit card number. He explained CRCIncHelps.com had opened an account in my name. I couldn't fully understand him due to a bad connection, so I'm not positive what the account was supposedly for or what CRCIncHelps.com claims to be selling, but he closed the account and issued a refund. We'll see, in seven to ten business days, whether I receive the refund.

  • I got a charge for 49.95 from the same company. The web page looks like it is set up just to be a fake front for credit scams. It even talks about having your credit card number and date and amount of transaction info ready for the customer service person. They are hoping you will call them instead of your credit card company. That way they can give you more bigger charges later with more of your information. Cancel your credit card and report the fraud to your bank.

  • Me too, this is def. a scam. 49.95 charge on my card on 12/28/11. After I purchased Talkadroid "IDeedle" from Google Marketplace. Not sure if there is ANY connection or innocent coincidence, but if others have any similar cases, please post it. I actually got an alert from HSBC, that this is a poss. fraud, they called me. So I guess they are really aware of these thieves. (and yes, "thieves should be hung").
