I sent money ($50.00) to friend on 10/26/11 via the Home Delivery Service through Western Union. I was billed the total amount of $67.00 which includes the additional fees which I promptly paid on my debit card (posted on 10/28/11). My friend attempted to use the card however it was declined. She called Western Union who advised her that no money was added to the card. I called the company and was put on hold and hung up on repeatedly. I called back again several days later when I had time to devote towards resolving the issue. After being transferred no less than five times, I spoke to rep. who confirmed that the money was never loaded to the card. She then transferred me to another dept. to which I had to explain the situation to. He put me on hold in order to investigate, and found that the Home Delivery Service has been discontinued. I was very upset by this since it had been over three weeks since I sent the money. No one contacted me about the problem, and on top of that the service is still being offered on their website. They are potentially scamming millions of people out of their hard earned money. They mentioned my friend could pick the money up at the agent location, however the home delivery service fees of the $17.00 would still apply although they didn't provide a service. I then requested to speak with a supervisor, who then claims he will be able to refund my entire amount paid after several approvals, and it can take up to 7 business days for the approval. This is fraud. If anyone else did this they'd be prosecuted. I called the fraud dept. with Western Union and reported a fraud on their company. The rep. disagreed with the other reps. and the supervisor, and hung up on me after placing me on a 20 min. hold.
