Hi - I have also been scammed by these companies that offer "A Free Trial" but years ago now.... I have learned the hard way with my experience.
Always remember - there is no such thing as a Free Trial. In the fine print of where you tick "agree" to terms & conditions - you are actually agreeing to paying for your goods if they are not returned within a week or so... Unfortunately, by the time you have received the goods, chances are you have already passed the "Trial 14 days" anyway. You are also agreeing to then have the product - whether you like it or not sent to you every fortnight or monthly (depending on what deal you have signed up on) and they in turn debit well before you get the goods ... Then to top it off - in the fine print again of the Terms & Conditions (which by the way - no-one reads and neither did I), you will see that you give the rights of your details to be given to their subsidiary companies, and their sub-subsidiary companies and then all within a couple of weeks - debits are coming from everywhere and you are receiving things you didn't even sign up for. Its hopeless to contact them, because they usually dont have a customer service centre - its frustrating.
I went straight to my bank (Im in Australia) - they closed the Visa Account - gave me a refund of my losses, reported the issues to the "fraud department" and the case was closed... My account was debited over AUS$900.00 by the time we got it under control.
My advice would be - if you want to buy things on-line - open a Visa Debit Account off your main account - and only transfer into it the amount of what you need to make the purchase ....
Hope this helps !
Cheers
