While Traveling out west for legal reasons I was in an area I did not know as what the locals call a dead zone for Straight talk/verizon service. I needed my phone, a phone, something I would be able to talk to family if needed, attorneys, bank, courts, if my vehicle broke down, due to health issues and most importantly me being homeless. A cell phone is an essential part of my everyday life now. Without it I cant let loved ones know I'm still alive and not in a ditch someplace along the roadside. Being in a deadzone I was forced to spend money needed to survive, food, gas, hotel, etc.. being forced to make this purchase cut/depleted what I did have to a smaller amount having to eat canned pork n beans and crackers for 17 days. Once I was able to head back to my original state which was TN and get out of the dead zone I had to use the other carrier service AT&T to contact straight talk to see if they were going to extend my service for 17 days due to me being in a deadzone. The first person I spoke with said the operator that took my initial complaint on the 21st of Nov 2016, when this all started, only gave me 10 days extension. I can deal with that. I got off the AT&T phone to try and call my daughter on the Straight talk phone once I hit a servicing area over 50 miles outside the deadzone, I had no service! I once again contacted Straight talk customer tech support and person stated he was supervisor as I told him what was going on he said he could not find my original complaint ticket number from 17 days prior to the date of my calling at that time Dec 13th 2016, when I was forced to buy a new phone. He asked if I had been given one I informed him no cause the operator at that time hung on me before I could even ask for a confirmation number. He said without that number he couldn't do anything. This is bull because he was a supervisor or so that's what he told me. Anyway I had to buy a new card to restore service on my existing phone that everyone had the number, like my family, my friends, my medical doctors, and everyone else who has that number. The straight talk phone is one that's a pay as ya go plan and my service end date was the 9th of December. I left Tn the 20th of november arrived in the deadzone on the 21st of November, left the deadzone the 13th of December and arrived back in my home state of Tn in the 14th of December So in all that is 19 days of being in a deadzone and I probably still had over half of what I pay for monthly left which is 5 gb of data only being able to use for 11 days before no service. I had no idea of this deadzone. According to straight talks area mapping it shows I should have had service. Now the new phone won't charge, I can't return, replace, or even sell it because I can't find the reciept and it's not working properly.
