I joined Media Downloader on the 6th of November at 5PM. It cost me approximately USD$5.99 for the first day and I had the option to buy a year after that for around USD$85.00.

I DID see a footnote on the document that said if I didn't cancel my subscription within 24 hours that I would be "upgraded" to an annual account and be charged accordingly. The product was RUBBISH! It als contained a small virus which I was able to fix thankfully.

I wrote to cancel my trial within FIVE hours of signing up AND I received a confirmation of my cancellation!!! That confirmation came approximately 10 hours later around 5 in the morning.

Nevertheless, when I examined my credit card transactions today I discovered that I had been charged for both the trial AND the annual fees. The transaction actually was made in Lithuania, not the USA. It was done through a card processing service called WP-C2S.com. My card company was excellent because I was able to prove that I had cancelled within the prescribed time AND because I had a confirmation from them.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! Caveat Emptor!
