Unfortunately, like so many others, I was duped into believing that Option Rally is a legitimate company but it's a scam. It is very cleverly conducted with a professional looking web-page with a photo of a Ferrari to imply wealth. Option Rally is not what it appears to be. It's actually a gambling site where clients place bets on whether the price of commodities or currencies will go up (call) or down (put) within a certain time period. It's like a two horse race. Betting closes 5 minutes before the deadline and the expiry time is equivalent to horses crossing the finish line. Smooth talking (so called) advisers like Roy Jones use all manner of verbal tactics to get clients to bet (trade) and invest more money since, "It will maximise your profits etc".
The problems occur when trying to withdraw money or close your account. I have over $1000AUD in my account and decided to withdraw $500 Dollars. I sent an email to Roy Jones, who refused to approve it on the basis that the remaining $500 was a waste of his time. The bottom line is that this is MY money. Warning bells rang so I decided to close my account and have the balance transferred to my bank account. At first, I was offered all sorts of bonuses and incentives to keep trading. I refused and eventually the advisor said that I was "a tough cookie" and agreed to transfer my money as requested. I thanked him but in the days and weeks that followed, no money was transferred. I sent an email and this time the adviser said that I would not be paid since I had not done enough trading. There is always and excuse of some kind but he had already agreed to send my money in the previous phone call. At this point I lost the plot and let him know exactly what I thought of Option Rally.
So my money is still sitting in my account and I can't access it. I now fill out endless withdrawal requests and Option Rally keeps cancelling them. Thankfully I didn't fall for any requests to invest more money. I hope my story will help any other would-be investors.
