GM Works with an address of 5200 Dartmouth St., Ventura, Calif sent me a check in the amount of $1,985.75 via USPS Express Mail but did not enclose a letter explaining why they were sending me this check. Also there was no explanation in the "Memo" part of the check. The name of the company on the check wasn't GM Works but was ALTC with an addres of PO Box 211089, Anchorage, AK and the check was drawn on Keybank located at 101 W Benson Ave., Anchorage, AK. I waited a few days to see if I'd receive a phone call, e-mail or letter in the mail as to why I was sent this check, but none came. I figured it was a scam in an attempt to get my banking info and also I signed for the USPS Express Mail so now they have my signature. I feel that this was an attempt to steal my identity. No only that but if this was a phony check, I could have been held responsible for cashing a false check. This also covers interstate mail fraud and I am a senior citizen.
