I have been a dedicated customer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, having had the newspaper delivered to my rear doorstep landing now for 24 years.

Beginning in May 2011, the paper carrier began throwing the paper into the woods, flower beds and pooled water where it became wet and unreadable. I complained daily and asked to have the paper delivered to the covered doorstep landing, as it had always been in the past.

The carrier apparently did not cater to changing his sloppy delivery methods and rebelled by trampling native Moccasin and Trillium flower beds, puncturing the door screen and willfully vandalizing and destroying a cedar deck table, all of this viewed and recorded on security cameras.

His supervisor, Victoria Williams of Quik Step Distributors, in her letter of July 29, 2011 states that “My contractor fell on the steps last week delivering the paper and this was the day that he took ‘revenge’ on the table.”

Victoria Williams has also taken revenge and has refused to deliver the paper to my residence, citing “raccoons and poor lighting” as her reasons. These reasons are unfounded.

The property entrance and walkway is safely lit with continuous lighting on both side railings of the stairway, an outdoor switch at the top and is swept clean daily for safe passage.

The Star Tribune has sided with Qwik Step Distributors’ refusal to deliver to my residence and terminated my subscription.

This is a perfect example of a major corporation having no concern for a loyal, long- term customer.

I would like the Star Tribune to resume delivering the newspaper to the rear doorstep landing and compensate me for personal property damage in the amount of $259.00.
