My wife found a newspaper ad for this travel agency (Shawn Travel Inc) in early October of this year. She called the agency around 10/10/2011 to buy a round-trip airline ticket to travel from Atlanta to Pakistan. My wife’s flight was booked for 10/29/2011 which she received an itinerary for, but when we got to the airport on that date it turned out that she did not have a seat on that flight. We reached out to the travel agency while we were at the airport to figure out if there was an error. A travel agent, named Moshan Khan, claimed that her flight was booked for 11/03/2011 and denied that she had any reservation for 10/29/2011. We made hundreds of phone calls without any success because the agent kept telling us to wait so he could find us another flight. Then, he stopped picking up the phone. Then, he would let someone else answer. At that point we realized after being in the airport for several hours that this agent was not going to get us a flight on that day. After yelling and argument with this person on the phone, he said he would refund our money by Monday 10/31/2011. I have made more than 200 calls, the manager of this agency (Asad Abid) told me on Wednesday 11/02/2011 that would investigate what happened and get back to me. A week went by and my wife finally got an email on 11/09/2011 from Asad Abid giving her two compensation options: Either to buy a ticket from this agency within one year, or to wait till he refunds her the money within 45 days. We strongly feel that this agency may close down anytime and take our money away. We feel they may do this because we transferred the money from our Chase Bank account to this agency’s Chase Bank Account while the bank told us that it can not file a claim to get our money because it was according to them a “wire transfer”.
