I attempted to make a reservation on the hotel website, and noted that the reservation had to be cancelled 24 hours before arrival. Reaising that this was 4:00 Pm on the day before arrival, I immediately attempted to cancel and was locked out of the site. It turns out this was not the hotel doing the booking, but some firm called Reservation-desk.com.who apparently refused to cancel. It apparently was already paid for on my credit card, which i gave for identification only and to make the booking; I intended to pay by debit on departure. Lesson learned- NEVER give out your card over the phone. I rec'd a confirmation from reservations .com after calling and registering a complaint,to cancel, but did not receive a credit.The Hotel would accept no responsibility, indicating the booking was not made at the desk.
