Ricardo agreed to carry out some work and we agreed a fee of £1,500 (USD 2,355) for the entire project. I paid a deposit and Ricardo informed me that the project was under way. We were getting close to deadline and whilst I had not seen any progress, he told me he had made great strides but told me he was about to lose his house and if I could pay the remainder so that he could move house and then finish the project. I foolishly trusted him (he gave me no reason not to) and paid in full.
Ricardo promised me faithfully that he wouldn't let me down (I have the entire paper chain to back all this up) and remained in contact even though he missed the deadline significantly.
After a great deal of pressure from me he finally delivered about 10% of the project and it was a complete mess.
From this point it was clear that he was not capable of finishing this and
