I do not have actual proof that this was a scam, but I sent my resume to craigslist and found a marketing internship located in red bank nj (or it said it was). I emailed back and forth my resume and available times for an interview. In the email the person "Stacy" told me to send 2 pictures of myself. At first i thought that it was weird, but then I thought nothing of it because i thought that maybe in order to market a company they wanted potentially good looking people (stupid thought of mine). The next day I was called, unexpected, from a blocked number twice. I answered the second time and it was an interview. In the beginning the interview seemed professional, asking the typical questions like what are your strengths and weaknesses, etc. Then i was told by "Sonny" the founder, that this job would entail me dealing with the facebook and twitter pages for this company to market it. Then i was asked if i use skype. I replied that i do and Sonny told me that this is beneficial because there are conference calls every 2 weeks. He asked me for my skype name and then called me. I told him i was not ready for a skype interview and did not want to give a bad first impression because i did not expect this and therefore was in sweatpants and not business attire. Sonny said it was okay and i accepted his request. He could see me on the video but i could not see him. He said his PC was not working properly. I then asked for a reschedule because i was not dressed in business attire. He responded by telling me to stand up and show him what i had on, and that it was okay because he could tell that i was a strong character no matter how i looked. He asked me to put on business attire and i responded that i have black dress pants and a blouse. He said that for my position i have to dress more appealing but appropriate and asked me if i had a dress to put on. I told him not really, but i was sure that i could find something. He told me i had 2 minutes to get dresses, and meanwhile i should think of what i could bring to the business. I put on a long sleeve appropriate dress and he told me to put the computer further away so he could see me entirely. THen he gave me an entire lesson on how to present because "i would be presenting the results from facebook and twitter, etc. in conferences" He weirdly told me how to stand and where to put my hands. He told me specifically to turn to the side and put my hand on my lower back and point with my other arm to the wall. Throughout this entire process he seemed very knowledgable about the company and asked me if i had any questions and would answer all of mine fully. He even brought me through the website and gave me a thorough break down of the company and the companies expectations. He told me that the company worked out of Red Bank, which i later realized that he lied and it worked out of Mt. Laurel NJ. He also told me that he travels globally and around the country for business but the website specified that it only deals with NJ and NY. He also told me his last name was Sonny MOHAN but on the website it said the founder's name was Sonny SINGH. Anyway, I started to feel uncomfortable, even though he did not tell me to do anything inappropriate exactly. I felt as though for an interview this was TOO MUCH and something that i would learn in training if i infact got the internship job. He said that our block time was from 2:15-3:15, it began at 2:00 and it was almost 4:00 pm when he told me that he had to make a phone call and that to keep the skype on but put the computer screen down for privacy but not to hang up and change into something light in color preferably white, but same material. THIS IS WHEN I REALIZED 100% that i was being stupid and that this guy was a scam and maybe a pervert and I hung up the skype interview. He then proceeded to call my cell phone and finally i answered and told him that i felt awkward and would like to reschedule another interview because this was not an appropriate time for me. He asked me if i felt uncomfortable and i simply told him that in the future he has to make sure that he "warns people" that the interview is not just on the phone, but also through skype. This was a 2 hour process and i am leaving out some details, but I am scared and unsure of what his intentions are. He kept telling me he was going out of town tomorrow, then changed the day to "in a few days" and then said he was going for 9 days and then changed it to him being away until next Friday. His skype name is "RBCG executive" and the website to his "business" is www.rbcg.net . During the interview he told me he liked my smile, and at the end he acted unprofessional. I was vulnerable because it was my first interview and i was nervous and thought that maybe skyping for an interview was "normal" in today's society. When he told me to change the second time i realized that this was not normal and it was also not normal that he called me from a blocked number, told me a different name than appeared on the website, did not allow me to see his face when he could see mine during our skype session, and also that he made me give a presentation dressed up and in the positions that he told me to, for about a half hour. I would not like any of this information to be shared further with anyone until I am contacted first. This man obviously pretended to work and be a founder of a company that he told little truth about (location etc). I do not know where to go from here. NOw i know not to apply to jobs from craigslist. There are a lot of scams out there and i am unsure of what to do from here. I did contact the local police and they wrote a report . I also tried calling the RBCG company several times but there was no answer. I am just afraid because this man knows where i live and what i look like (from the interview and from my resume).
