Capital marketing pros called me soliciting for me to sell business credit card accounts. They said they required a one time charge of 895.00 dollars to become an agent. But they made it sound like I was working for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover card. They said for the charge of the 895.00 dollars they were going to set me up with my own web-site. Then they told me I was going to receive extensive training to set me up in business. They said the trainer would call next week. The guy who sold this bill of goods name was Chris. So a week later I get a call from Michelle. Who says she's the secretary for Kevin McGrath of Capital Marketing Pros. She told me she wanted to set up an appointment with Kevin McGrath to do some training. So Mr. McGrath calls me and tells me, here's how it works Scott, we get credit card accounts set up for businesses. Through capital marketing and through a bank, because they can't do this themselves. Then he says to get started I need to make an investment of 5,000.00 to 20,000.00 dollars to buy these business files from the bank. The file cost is 20.00 dollars a file. And according to this Kevin McGrath, whatever monies I put up will be matched dollar for dollar up to 20,000.00 dollars by the bank. So I went to my bank to get a 10,000.00 dollar loan. I relayed this information to Kevin McGrath. He says to me as soon as you get the money you can wire transfer it to me. I told him no way, I've been ripped off in the past. But if he wanted to E mail me a document stipulating what I was getting for my money, and that my web site was going to be set up, and exactly what I would be doing in this business. He said he wasn't going through all that trouble, and then I probably wouldn't invest. So I said I wasn't going to blindly send him 10,000.00 dollars, because I didn't know him. Then I told him if he would allow me to come to where he does business. Then I would evaluate the legitimacy of the business, and if it's legitimate then I would invest. He said that would be okay, but first see if my loan from my bank was going to go through. Well the bank turned me down. So I called Mr. McGrath back and I told him. Then I told him I knew I could get 2 more credit cards, which would cover a 5,000.00 dollar investment, then I would get his address and meet in person. Well I got both cards in 10 days, the second one on Monday 04/20/2015. From Monday the 20th to Wednesday the 22nd I have called the numbers for Kevin McGrath, Chris, and Michelle 19 times with messages, and they never called back. So I went to my bank, Wells Fargo yesterday afternoon, and had my banker Margrit call them. Guess what, Michelle immediately answered, so they were screening my calls. I asked Michelle why no one was returning my calls. She said Kevin wasn't there, but she'd make sure he called me tommorrow on Thursday the 23rd. Well I've waited all day, and called them twice, again with no returned call. So I called Wells Fargo Visa and disputed the 895.00 charge and canceled that card.
Thank You Scott W. Smith, Rockport, Tx.
