I placed an ad on Craigslist in search of Pens tickets for a game in mid March. Mr. Wolf got my number from the ad and contacted me, claiming he had tickets from his employer that he would not be using that we can purchase. Great seats at a great price. We should have known from that that this was a scam. He also claimed he didn't use Paypal and that the money had to be transferred via Western Union or Walmart to Walmart money transfer. Caught up in the moment, we decided this deal was too good to pass up and agreed to transfer the money. Skepticism rushed over me, so he decided to send a photo of himself holding his DL (for proof of legitimacy I suppose?) and even supplied his SSN to assure us this was a legitimate deal. After the money was transferred, there were multiple stories and excuses (and to be honest, a lot of bullshit) as to why he didn't have his hands on the tickets or why he didn't get them from his boss yet, etc. He stayed in touch for many days, which made us feel better. He even claimed he would drive the tickets to us, more than 2 hours away, but SOMETHING (almost always work) would always come up that prevented him from getting the tickets himself or driving them to us. All we asked for was a quick picture OF the tickets to prove they existed. Nothing. Then, five days after the initial contact, communication came to an abrupt halt. He no longer responded to texts, phone calls, nothing. This criminal stole money from very hardworking people and justice will be served.
