Hi. I signed up with ATL Practical Training to do a distance learning course (Renewable Resources Energy Engineer with Solar Photo Voltaics - This course as stated will provide me with a City & Guilds 6189 NVQ Diploma, City & Guilds 2399 Level 2 award and a full scope Part P electrical through Bpec). The contract was signed for in my house when a sales person visited, as I had requested further information about the course via a website. I signed up for the course on the 24.04.2012 and the finance was provided and approve by CDF (Career development finance - This company also operates through the same address). Now without my knowledge when the first study material arrived it was all labelled Train 4 Trade Skills, which did raise any concerns. During my 1st 2 weeks practical training they provided me with a sheet of paper stating that due to industry changes the course had been changed to a City and Guilds 6035, but they verbally explained that I could still achieve a C&G 6189, so I left it. Only during my Week 6 Practical did I find out that my course (Renewables) had been cancelled, as stated by the tutor. I checked this with the college and could not get a straight answer. I wrote to them asking to explain and I stated that if they could not provide me with the qualification as stated in my original contract, then I would like a full refund. Their response was I could not cancel due to my contract terms and conditions and the changes were as stated due to industry changes (This was checked with City and Guilds, whom advised no such changes). I have since found out that Metropolitan International Schools has traded under various other names and Dr Jan Telensky has been the director of many of these companies. I feel that I have been scammed amougst many other people and I believe that this company is practising fraud. How do I get my money back from them? Please help or advise me. Thanking you. Leonard Baker (My phone number is 07565177098 - email - [email protected])
