On 23/07/2014 whilst searching for air tickets for two people travelling to and from London Heathrow to Harare, Zimbabwe, I picked the Cheapestairtkt as the best offer I could get. The website, CHEAPESTAIRTKT.CO.UK then indicated that I had to phone and finalize the reservation, which I did and I talked to gentleman who gave his name as DAVE. Dave gave me all the itinerary of what sounded to be a perfect journey scheduled for 20/08/2014 and returning on 04/09/2014. On the payment I offered to pay by credit card but he said that it was company policy not to take payment in that way. He instead advised that he would email the company bank details so that I would have to make payments direct into that account. He emailed the bank details as

I made an initial payment of £100.00 as he advised to show that I was serious on the reservation which I did online. I made two more payments, that last one on 02/08/2014. Dave advised that the tickets would be emailed in 72 hours to my email address which I had used for that reservation.

The 72 hours passed and there were no tickets issued. I started calling the company for the tickets and Dave advised that there had been a problem with the company bank account, but it was going to be resolved within 3-4 days and then the tickets would be ready. Nothing materialized. I started calling the company on a daily basis. Dave started avoiding my calls and NICK, SOPHIA and JAY became regular attendees. Their story was the same, that the bank had not yet resolved the account issue but there were aware of my issue and would do everything in their power to make sure that I was going to get my tickets before the 20/08/2014.

I was given reservation and airline references and asked to phone and confirm my reservation. By the 19/08/2014, they started to offer a refund if I was not sure of their position and they all insisted that it would be a matter of roughly two hours for me to get the money back into my account. On 20/08/2014 Nick introduced a new issue that what I had paid was insufficient for two tickets and if I wanted to travel on the 20th I had to pay in extra £250.00. I did not give them any more money. I opted for a refund and several promises were made which never came to anything. Nick then advised that my refund would be minus £200.00 for administration fees which I did not agree to because they had created a situation for me. I told him that I had not breached anything on our agreement so I needed not pay them anything but he was adamant. I thought it was a way of benefiting on my money because there were holding it in their account.

I sent then a couple of emails but to no avail. I ended up having had to purchase separate air tickets and travel but not on the same day. When I came back from my holiday still there was no refund in my account. I telephoned and spoke to Dave who advised that he was going to give my details to their accounts department for the processing of my refund and that I should contact him on the following day for confirmation. I reminded him that that was the tone from before and and he tried to sound more business like.

I am writing to you so that you help me recover my money from CheapestAirTkt because I do not believe they treated me fairly.
