Melvin Mikes the painter/owner gave me a great quote on painting the interior of my home, said he was going to do great prep work in detail and sounded legit. The day he started he was complaining about having to sand patches on walls that the electricians that referred him did, for a week he was telling me it wasnt his job to sand the walls (all the patches were there when he bid the job in the first place but had no issues then??) then he started complaining that our house was too cold and unsafe for him to work and called in sick on monday (we keep it at 75??) Tuesday he came, then tuesday night tells me per our contract i need to move everything out of the bedrooms and once i do so call him to come back and finish??? I was livid at this point, he is now not returning calls, emails, or texts.. has my 1800.00 and completed about 10% of a 2800 job. going to small claims now. Beware of him making a ton of promises, saying how great he is, then coming in and bailing after a few days work.
