rec'd letter from pinecone research on 7/17/2014-i would be receiving a check & instructions on how to carry out an on-site secret case study on a Western Union outlet in my area. rec'd a check for $1980.00 & 2 page letter explaining my assignment. They provided recipient name, city, country, text question & text answer. cashed check at my bank which have had for 8 yrs-know everyone etc. i told banker i know pinecone-have done many many surveys etc & basically vouched for check so there would be no hold. although feel stupid now, really am not & would not have vouched for anyone else-NO ONE-but know Pinecone-have contacted Karen b4-have done follow up surveys on products sent to me to evaluate & know their logo. whoever is doing this is sadly quite good-however i, like many apparently, are out alot of money. i don't have $1980-so hopefully my bank will allow monthly payments & not close my account. the check was returned refer to maker-which (used to) mean person signing check not on account. be4 i knew check had been returned-same day actually-i rec'd a lone check for $1980-have no idea why sent-i took to my bank & rather than taking a chance of having it returned she suggested i go to Citi Bank where it was drawn from. I am in Ca & check from New Castle, DE so city bank had to call corporate office be4 cashing & was told that "they could give her no info on check". teller nor I knew what that meant!! please tell me there is recourse for me to either contact police that may be working on this case or any means of taking this company down or class action suit or anything that will give me back this money. i hope that pinecone isn't doing this cuz i always thought of them as the best survey site online-always got paid-karen always answered emails i sent etc. studying the new check i see "tns" is on top left with p.o. box in ohio where pinecone is located. thank u - hoping to get this resolved with whatever means that need to be done-i just need some direction please!
