A woman from Brazil named Eldinar Lopes was showing her interest in my works for several months. When she has finally decided to buy this art doll bust, I had no any suspicions about her. How ever the problems have started when she said she can't pay the Paypal invoice as her account is overlimited etc.. After a couple of weeks of conversations on FB, of sending her several invoices and the info for a bank transactions etc., I gave up and listed the bust in my internet store. It was sold the next day. The transaction was made by Jose Nazareno Araujo dos Santos junior, how ever the shipping address on transaction detail page was Eldinar Lopes. I have contacted Eldinar, and she told me this is her boyfriend paying for the doll bust. (I have checked his facebook page, yes, he had her marked as his girlfirend). I packed the bust carefully and shipped it by international priority mail.

A MONTH LATER: I received a note from Paypal: Jose Nazareno Araujo dos Santos junior has placed a complaint to his credit company for an Unauthorized payment. Of course I did send Paypal the screen shots of the conversations, and the proof of shipment. Few days later Paypal has informed me that I can use the money now... a relief... until a couple of days later! Another message from Paypal – we have review your case, you are not eligible for “Seller Protection” - we will charge back the whole sum + a fee! The case is closed. Contact the buyer for return of your merchandise.
CONTACT THE BUYER??? How??? I have written several e-mails to Eldinar Lopez and to Jose Nazareno Araujo dos Santos junior and I have received no response. They haven't answered any single message. If that had been unauthorised payment, why wouldn't mister Jose Nazareno Araujo dos Santos junior answer me? Should I go to Brazil now and ask for MY item?...

Paypal didn't protect me because I am not based in US nor UK, and they have charged me a fee!... why??? was there my fault in anything, that I have to pay Paypal at the end? What about protecting me from dishonest “customers”? I have lost a unique art piece, I have lost money and I still had to pay extra fee to Paypal for NOT PROTECTING me!

I have places a couple of complaints to paypal - didn't get any response other than "the case is closed, you have agreed with our terms of use, we can't help you".

I am making this public so other artists know about these dishonest people and avoid making business with them. Also be careful with Paypal, it is not protecting sellers, only buyers.
