Complaint 324802 Details

I received a text on June 22, 2014 from (720) 223-9435 asking me if the item on Craigslist was still for sale and in good condition. I responded yes and he asked if I had a PayPal account. After replying yes he said he forwarded my zip code to his transport company and they will charge a $450 fee, but we can do business. He then asked for my PayPal email address to proceed with the payment. I attempted to call the number to get a fill for the person but only could reach the individual by text. After some back and for the texting he finally stated his name was Sidwall Alvarez.
Because the his friend’s company could only be paid western union he would pay me the item and transport fee via PayPal in which I would pay the truck place once payment was received. Apparently his work could only do Paypal.
A few minutes later I received this message:
Sidwall:
"I just made a secure payment and my account has been deducted so i need you go check your (email address) inbox and spam for the payment confirmation."
Me:
“Yes I got it.”
Sidwall:
Ok Good you can reply them Via email sent to you if you have any Question Okay.”


First Scam Email: Notice not my name but email address that I provided. Never give your full name.
Subj: !!!!Message from PayPal!!!!(REPLY THIS EMAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION) 8:01 PM

Kindly reply to this message if you have any question regarding this transaction and I will be happy to help you. We require you to reply to this message with the following information for verification and confirmation as soon as you have sent the money:
Note:- We will not credit the account until you make the payment of $450.00USD to the shippers first and you get back to us with the Western union details for prove.
The Money Transfer Control Number
The Sender's Name and address
We thank you for being an asset to PayPal and we hope to serve you better in the nearest future.

Subj: PENDING FUND ALERT!!! 8:02 PM
From: [email protected] <[email protected]>

Dear Merchant "email address not my full name"
This is PayPal Payment Verification Department. We are using this medium to tell you that we have receive the money that was sent to you buy Mr Sidwell Alvarez but the money will not show yet in your account. This was done in other to protect you seller and the buyer .We are very sorry for pending your money made by Mr Sidwell Alvarez,The money is already in your account, we are pending the fund and will not shown yet until you pay the Shipper's Fee via Western union and provide us with the Western union Details.
So we assure you that as soon as we receive the Western union Details from you we will credit your account immediately .
