We have received your check. We find it quite disturbing that you would withhold over $245.00 from our refund given the severe damage and flaws of the desk we returned to you.

To recap our experience:
First, you delivered only half of the L-shaped desk, about 6 weeks after we ordered the desk on August 1, 2011. The other half of the desk was severely damaged in shipment. Had you phoned ahead with this important piece of information, we would have had the opportunity to turn down the delivery before this entire debacle occured
The half of the desk that was delivered had a split side where the hardware attached to the pencil drawer.
The drawer was unuseable, as was "one half of a desk."
You told us that you ordered a replacement of the severely damaged half, and that it would take another two weeks to get that piece delivered, and also to receive a useable drawer that would actually slide open and shut.
When the other half of the desk arrived here, the deliverers had a very difficult time fitting it together with the existing half. No matter how hard they tried they could not get the unit to match up evenly. It left a rather unsightly lip, and also a space toward the outer edge that would not come together tightly enough. We could see the carpet through the open space.
The replacement half that was delivered had problems also. Besides not matching up evenly to the other half of the desk, the finish color was darker than the original half. This we suspect would occur when different lots of stains are used or variations in wood grains, etc. If you look at the desk closely from all angles, you will not fail to see this considerable color variation.
We noted that the outer spring-operated door that opened to house the computer tower, and to access all the plugins for the computer and peripherals would not pop open. I filmed this problem and no matter how hard I tried, the door would stick and not open without being forcefully pulled on near the bottom.

We find that your charge to us of over $245 is unacceptable, and ask that you reconsider your decision, and return our refund in full.



I regret that your business is hurting in this economy, but you must take care of your customers first. Do you realize how many sales your untoward actions might cost you?



We found a beautiful L-shaped desk at Earl Johnson Furniture that was delivered the day after you retrieved the defective desk from our house, all at one time and it was in perfect condition in every way including a very tight fit and a beautiful matching finish. The desk we received from your store, even though more costly, was not in any way comparable to this very beautiful, quality-made desk.



The entire process, from ordering the desk, and receiving a still damaged product [the desk still was missing a drawer] took over two months.



At this point, we are considering legal action.

The purchase price of the desk was $1954+
