I have received about 5 phone calls today, because I was researching on line last night about getting a bad credit loan. Only twice they said they were GE Capital Bank. The other two times they said they were American Loan Co, that area code was California. There was another company called E-Loan. They were all people with a very strong African accent. You can tell the line is recorded, because it echos in your ear. Also, you can hear a lot of noise in the background. It's a call center of some sort. I honestly think that these companies are scams out of Africa somewhere, and getting access to US phone numbers that it looks like they are calling from. All kinds of technology is out there for this kind of thing. My advice, NEVER GIVE MONEY TO GET MONEY! They didn't get any money from me, because I said no. But I told them they needed to stop calling me, and he said that they never will. So, I chewed him out, but I didn't cuss at him. He called me a "b", and told me to get off his phone & hung up on me! Lol!
