In April of 2011, we were victims of timeshare fraud in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and lost a significant amount of money. On April 11, 2014, a person who identified himself Lic. Damian Hernandez (or later Lic. Damian Hernandez Castro) from Subprocuraduria de Servicios de Verificacion contacted us and informed us that the perpetrators of this fraud had been apprehended and their assets seized. Further, we were to be reimbursed for our loss. We were elated. All seemed legitimate until, on May 5, 2014, we were contacted by a man who identified himself as Bernardo Rodriguez Ocho from Comision Nacional Bancaria y de Valores. He told us that for indemnified funds to be paid to foreigners, Mexican law required that a validation deposit be made, but that this deposit would be returned to us. He instructed us to wire the money to Conglomerado De Servicios Multiples Financieros Arko S.A. De C.V. Immediately, a red flag went up for us. We are convinced that this is yet another fraud and would like to post this complaint as a warning to your users.
