this is like the 10th call in the last three months I have gotten from different phone numbers,the above being last one,that tell me I have won money and a car. all I have to do is send them money to get the money. I told them fine if I won just take money you want out of what I won and send me the rest,as I know this to be a scam. they get very abusive and rude and insistent. what I want to know is how they got my number and how do I stop the calls? I called attorney general's office they said even being on no calls list will not help as they are scammers and not telemarketers. one of the scammers told me they were from publishers clearing house. I called PCH to report the scam and they told me they would never ask someone for money to get money,which I already knew,but still liked it to be validated. the sad part is that some people believe them and send them money. how can we stop this? am told they can make call appear to come from anywhere even locally,but several came from a throwaway cell phone in Jamaica. people need to be aware. and since I recently retired from my job and that's when calls started,have to wonder if there is a connection???? two of the phone carriers to watch out for that scammers use are ymax and/or magic jack
