On September 25, 2011 I phone MetLife in response to a letter they sent me. The pracatically promised me lower rates than I was paying with another provider. I spoke with a representative by the name of Jon Wilson. I compared my current policy with him and he showed me where he could save me money. At first I wasn't comfortabel giving up my road service, but all things considered, after he told me he could reduce my premium to $126.50 per month for a six month term. When I asked about a down payment he told me that if I allowed them to debit my account monthly for the premium there would be no down payment required. I felt like this was too good to be true, and I told him is that the only way I would change providers is if that premimun was a the actual monthly premium, Jon told me that he'd already ran my drivers record, and I was good to go. I told him that my current policy was up on September 16,2011, he said he could start my policy on September 18th. By September 22nd. I'd not received my policy, with the guaranteed premium of $126.50, nor had I received my certificate of insurance. I called Jon, he told me that my policy was in the mail. I told him I didn't feel comfortable driving without out proof of insurance, he told me he'd email it to me and he also gave me my policy number. I called a week later and left a message, Jon called me back stating he didn't know why I hadn't received my policy, then he told me that underwriting at MetLife had thirty days to evaulate an insured, before issuing a policy, I responded, with I though you told me my policy was in the mail, he replied it is. I'd selected the first of the month for the policy payment date, and I asked Jon would the funds still be coming out as agreed, he said he was waiting on approval. I really became concerned after that conversation. I phoned him again on the 29th. and left him the following message: I told him that there was only enough money available for the actual quoted premium of $126.50 nothing more, and I asked that he give me a call to verify that information. He didn't call me back. When I checked my bank balance online I found that MetLife tood $151.80 from my account, this amount overdrew my account. I filed a complaint with the State of Michigan, and filed a complaint with my bank regarding the unauthorized taking. I just read some of the complaints online about MetLife, I can't believe the games they are playing with peoples lives. I'm going to fight them, I won't allow them to commit fraud and misrepresentation with my money. What do you guys say?

If we work together, and with compentant legal assistance, we can bring companies like this to their knees. They are laughing at us, and I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to have the last laugh on this one. My issue was with an auto policy, however that shouldn't matter fraud and misrepresentation, is what it is, it doesn't matter what type of policy, or amount of money is involved. I authorized a check debit for the premiun amount of $126.50, the took $151.80.
