I recently received a call from a "suppose" law firm with the number (785) 734-4220, the reps name: James Washington (which had an very hard Indian accent), stating that they were calling me on behalf of AMERICAN CASH; they informed me that I was being sued by the company for a loan that I had "apparently" accepted (which I have not received any loans, I have bank statements for proof)and that had made payment arrangements and had not followed through on my payments (this is the first time I have even heard of a "alleged" suit. They stated that the loan that I was "apparently" granted was for the amount of $989.16. That if I did not repay the loan that I would be charged with fraud, criminal activity, etc. They tried to verify my personal information (assuming that they only had limited information from the internet) I refused to verify any information and that I would like to receive the Case # that they had apparently come up with. The rep stated that my particular case was being held from any legal proceeding for the time, due to having no criminal background and not having been in trouble with the law. I then went on stating that I had taken all the information, written it down and that I appreciated the concern but that I would contact the authorities for further instructions as to dealing with the alleged case being brought up against me. PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! Do not under any circumstances pay them. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Check if their claims are false by doing a credit check and seeing if indeed this supposed company appears on your credit report. If they indeed have a case due to lack of payment of any sort, it would have gone into delinquent status and with no doubt appear on your credit report. DO NOT COMPLY. Verify the "supposed" allegations and go from there.
