Got a quote from Carl, the mechanic and man in charge on this day, to service my transmission. Quoted "about $200", so I told him to go ahead. Bill presented to me was $334 including tax. Should have been $216, including tax. When I questioned him, he told me I should have gotten the quote in writing, and the price charged for the work he did was "in the ballpark". Attempted to contact the owner, Michael Gardner, but he refused to take my calls and avoided me when I showed up in person.
1. Dealer cost for this work is $200.
2. Expensive synthetic oil was used instead of regular transmission fluid against the manufacturer's recommendation.
3. The increase in cost should have been relayed to me for my approval before the work began.
4. The work done was below par and oil leaked on my drive in two different places. I had to clean the spilled oil on my truck myself to prevent further oil dripping on my drive.
5. Owner refused to discuss the issue with me.
