I received a call from a person of foreign decent and was told that my brand new computer had been flagged in my state as having all sorts of errors and if I didn't accept their help now, the future of my computer was questionable. He then had be do a Run on my Windows and there was a lot of error/warning msgs but I have no clue what they meant. When I was asking questions he became kind of hostile saying my computer may cease to work if I didn't have them test it. He transferred me to Eric Dawson employee I.D. ERDA131 (probably means sucker in some language). The phone number they called in on was 212=077-4568 but the name was unavailable and when I called it I got a message saying the number was not in service. I made the BIG mistake of falling for this scam... and for almost 4 hours after they had control of my pc I called the legit number of 800-935-0714 and they "released" their control of my computer. A friend informed me that this was a scam and I called my credit card company where the charge was not pending. Another thing, the people on the phone (Tom Cooper, who was the man who validated my payment but I never heard the call being transferred from or by Eric Dawson) asked for one of three specific credit cards with Discover not being one of them. Yet the Helptech247 official site lists Discover as an accepted credit card. Lastly, when I looked up their site, I noticed sentences repeated in a row, misspelled words and bad grammar. This may not mean much to many but had I had a chance to see this site in advance it would have been a HUGE RED SIGN to me. This is somehow a scam so everyone needs to be careful- they said they were working in Nebraska at this time. I will call the Attorney General concerning this! Good luck everyone and shame on those doing this scam.
