Saw an infomercial on TV with Anthony Morrison as the guest selling his Affiiate Network Marketing/ Hansen Report for a markdown price of 19.95 +9.95 S&H. Will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know about Affiliate Marketing on the internet as well as set up a completely FREE website for life. Well this is the first time I have watched TV in a while but I was up late and tired of being on facebook so I thought I would watch TV. Turned on the TV and this was on CBS station as a paid advertisement. He looked genuine and spoke well, was young (23) and had a rise from the ashes story. When asked why he was sharing his "secrets" with everyone he simply stated "To make money! Everytime one of my marketers earns money so do I. Why not share it with everyone I can?" Well, normally I don't pay much attention to these types of things but that one blatant seemingly truthful statement had me hooked! Finally Someone honest enough to tell the world that all they wanted to do was to make money!!! It wasn't a get rich quick scheme he said, but if I didn't make back the money I had paid him within 30 days he would refund me teh complete 19.95. 20 bucks right? That's lunch for the grandkids at McDonalds..no big deal. It was late at night 1:30 am, so I called and got an automated attendant who welcomed me and required me to give some infomormation (billing) and then confirmed (via recording) everything I stated including my credit card information. I spent the next 15 mintues being upsold promises of a team of people that would work for me, one of who would call me on my cell phone before the auto attendant hung up, that would create all the websites, a Google account, Yahoo account, Advert account..all types of things that would normally be thousands of dollars all for a one time fee of 197.00 but I had to commit NOW as this would not be offered to me again. I declined. Some more offers went by that I also declined. As I sat there saying "NO" over and over the phone slipped from my grip slightly and I let out a little "yelp/sigh" and accidentally agreed to an audio book that would be 29.99..asking for "help" or pushing "0" for an operator of some sorts did nothing. I continued with the call and it came to the shipping costs of materials. For normal delivery the time frame was quoted as 4-6 weeks, for upgraded delivery to have all I had ordered in 3 days it was an additional 9.95. I was tired so I agreed to it. I was never quoted my total but the automatic attendant released from the call. I look at the damages to my debit card: 69.75..well a little more than a meal at McD's but I was the one that dropped the phone. I logged into my "free" website and was immediately greeted with a short video of Anthony Morrison telling me that for 97.00 I would have immediate access to his online audio book that would show me screen shots of how to set-up my own website, Google accounts and the other accounts I had denied on the phone earlier. At this point a red flag should have gone up but it was a snap decision as this too "would be the only time I would be offered this" at this price. After a little debating with myself and seeing that it was now 3:30 am I agreed to it. He said I would be happy and that he would let the attendant know of my wishes and she would add that on to the bill. Also for "free" I would be automatically enrolled in "some-random-web-hosting-program" for 30 days and if I didn't find it useful all I had to do was contact the Affiliate Network Marketing customer service department at which time I would be able to cancel. He didn't give me a number to call, but the there was a number to call if I needed help with my "free" website should I need anyone. I went to bed. The next day I watched some of the "getting started" videos that showed me what my free website, now know as my "Dashboard", looked like and how it worked. All seemed legit and Anthony throughout the videos kept reminding me that I wasn't going to be a millionaire over night and if thats what I expected then this wasn't the place for me. Further instructional videos would take me into situations where I was asked for more money( on the spot decision) but I ignored them, as having slept made me a bit more careful of what I was doing. Anthony was getting me into a business that all I had to do was post advertisements up for big businesses and I would be paid in one of several ways depending upon the method he and the Big Business has agreed to. I also found out that the better paying businesses or those that were newly added to the campaign list was by being accepted into his MSA Academy (invite only of course. Fill out the form, again being a limited time offer, to have my application reviewed, and if chosen for a phone interview would have to be conducted.Thinking of all the little extra's I would need to purchase in house to keep all of this organized, and a phone that had an external speaker, I decided to look online for prices. While waiting for another page to load, I opened a new browser window and Googled Mr. Anthony Morrison. A little red flag had begun to creep into my mind so I thought I better check him out. HIS NAME IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH THE WORD "SCAM" SCREAMING BOLDLY! I immediately started reading threads of those people scammed, most for 3995.00, for nothing more than they could find on the web for FREE themselves with a little digging. I called the 800 number I had been given..nothing..I dug a little deeper on the internet and found a number that purported to be the "real" customer service number and dialed that. I got a message that said I was calling after business hours but to leave a message and someone would call me back as soon as possible. I am currently in the middle of battle to recover some of my money (calling them from a law enforcement recorded line) that I had spent on this nightmare that started with an offer for 19.95. As of yet I haven't received my "late night order" in order to refuse delivery, but have been warned it will most likely arrive via FedEx and be dropped on my doorstep, where I will not be able to refuse delivery. But I will be calling FedEx to have them come pick it up unopened and returning it to them as a refused package. I am also cancelling my debit card and reapplying for a new one, changing my direct deposit accounts as well as the where my wife's disability check is received as they are all tied to the debit card account I ordered this "19.95" promotion with. A sucker is born every minute.
