I erroneously thought my driving licence was due to expire as the date on the front of my licence showed April 27th 2014. I completed the application and paid £80 with my MBNA WDCS credit card. After about 40 minutes I decided to phone DVLA Swansea who used to issue driving licences, they said it was only my photo that expired then my licence was current till 13/05/15. I tried to get my money back via MBNA, they refused under Mastercard selling regulations. The Financial Ombudsman and Trading Standards are now handling my case without much success!! I am a 71 year old pensioner in not too good health, though I can still drive, surely there should be some leeway in time limits to cancel the product if after 40 minutes you discovered you dont need the product. I sent an E mail to the company concerned but they did not reply
