I filled out an online application for a payday loan (shame on me). I received numerous phone calls with no messages being left as I don't answer numbers I don't know. This one particular company, GE Capital, left numerous messages and a call back number. I spoke with them and they told me I was approved for $5000.00. The installments were my choice of 1,6 or 12 months. My choice!?When I inquired for an amount of 2500 and was told the monthly amount was only 225/mo I became suspicious knowing that most payday loans have astronomical interest rates. I was passed on to a supervisor, Michael Smith. (All reps had a strong Indian accent). He instructed me that because of my below average credit rating I would need to go to a store and load a greendot/moneypak card in the amount of $225. Thankfully i paid attention to all of the red flags and told them I would get back to them. I just hung up on "Michael Smith" this morning when he called me back when he appeared to not understand that I was not interested. My biggest concern is that I keyed in my banking information when I filled out the online application. (Shame on me again....)
I am fairly confident that they are in no way affiliated with GE Capital and will be changing my banking info ASAP.
Do Not give these people anything.....
