We are shocked to receive an invoice from this company out of nowhere today for S$490 for 2013 billing of a "Service" that we did not even realized we have subscribed to.
When we received the instructions to register on companyregister.sg a few months ago the letter was drafted to sound like a stern notice from SG ACRA giving us a deadline by when to register, and if the deadline were missed our company will be striked off the companies registry.

Hi Foolish
I am going write to data register to ask them to remove my account, or I'll file a complaint with ACRA and other relevant authorities.
The more names I have, the stronger our case will be. If your are interested, drop me an email at [email protected] with your company name and registration number by Thursday 14 Jan 2014.
Let's stop this before more unsuspecting companies fall into the trap.

Sorry for late reply. I've actually written to data register and guess what ? They said that they'd remove my account only after I pay them $490. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!
ACRA is aware of this scam already and is now investigating. The press are also aware.

Hence I guess I won't do anything for now and just ignore the invoice. Many thanks for your effort to help. Sorry, I am also very careful about releasing personal data over here as scam book itself is a scam. No offence...not that I don't trust you, but it's just a precaution.
Sincerely, I truly appreciate your initiative to put a firm stop to this nonsensical "business" set up by foreign directors.
