On Jan 8,2014 I received a voice message at work from this phone number stating if I don't not call them back good luck to me . I called back spoke with a guy named Nelson Martin who had a Indian accent. He said a lawsuit was being file against me for a payday loan that I did not pay back but he could not give me the date or amount I supposedly got this loan for but the balance left was $398.26 and I can avoid going to court by paying that amount today. I told him I'm not paying g anything without proof and asked him to send the documents to me to review. He got rude and said they have been trying to get in touch with me by email. I asked who the emails were from he said America Cash. I have nothing from them. He still would not send the info to me. I'm not gonna lie he did scare me and I said I have to check my files he said I have 2 hours to call him back. I did some research and found a lot of complaints regarding this same scam. When I called back I asked for the name of the law firm he was representing and he said Erin and Morrison in Houston TX. That night I request fraud alerts be placed on my credit reports.
The next day 1/10/14. I went to my bank alerted them and close my account since he said the have my SS # and bank account. Nelson called me again on Friday asking me how I want to pay the balance I told him I'm not paying anything without documentation he got rude and said his law firm will be proceeding with the lawsuit, my employer will be told and I will be arrested at work on Monday then hung up on me. I called back to ask him the address of the law firm which he refused to give me it will be in the papers he is sending me and told me to stop calling since I didn't went to pay the balance. I told him to stop calling me to my job and on my cell phone. He hung up. I will be filing a police report.
I also because I have applied for payday loans before I contacted Advance America and verified I do not have a loan with them. The rep told me there has been a lot of people getting calls like this lately. I gave her the information I had for their files.
I hope I don't hear from these people again and there's no law suit
