I was looking for a payday loan and filled out several applications. I received a call from a Daniel at loans of America. He asked how much I was looking for and he told me they did not handle loans for less than $2000. The repayment fee was well within our budget and the loan would allow us to pay off some old debts. I was instructed to go to a rite aid or CVS and purchase a green dot card for $183 which would be the 1st months installment as a good faith payment. I was transferred to the accounting department and spoke with a john Thompson who informed me that he would call me back with a confirmation number when the funds had been released. I did receive a call back but only to inform me that my bank required a $133 fee to cover the taxes and I would need to buy a second green dot card for that amount and to call when I had the,e second card. After the same "promise" or lie of a call back with confirmation..I received a call that a 3rd company had a hold on any loans for me due to an outstanding debt with the 3rd party company. This debt was valid. I was given the name of an attorney to contact for payment arrangements and had to purchase a 3rd green dot card for $200 with a promise that the hold would be released so the funds could be put to my account. I was told to give the attorney my green dot card number and he would give me a confirmation code. I was to call Daniel back at loans of America with the confirmation code from the attorney. My husband spoke with Daniel and he was told that they could release the funds but we could also "protect ourselves" by purchasing yet another green dot card for $83as insurance or we could "take the chance". My husband told him that there should be no more issues and to push the payment through. Again we were told that we would receive a confirmation call with in 45 minutes. That call never came and our calls to them were not and have not been returned.
