I applied for the Personal Assistant position on Craigslist. A couple of days later, the companies "HR" department e-mailed me saying I was on the wait list for the position. I then received an e-mail from Allen Chen, the manager, saying I got the position, and that I would get $400 weekly. He then said he needed to see if he could trust me with his funds, then mailed me a check through the US postal service for $2,480 ($400 of which he told me would be my pay.) He told me to deposit the check into my account, then withdraw $2,080. He asked to send $200 to somebody in Ghana, and put the remaining $1,800 on two separate Money Pak cards. He asked me to send the number of the Money Pak cards. Today, my account was overdrawn due to the check being fraudulent. I am now I'm debt with my bank -$2,480. I have tried contacting him and no answer. I have tried to refund the money pak cards, but apparently he must've used them. This man is a scam artist. Please be careful. I will attach the emails I received below.

Mr Allen Chen travels a lot and gets his hands occupied because he works with other companies in the states and outside, so it is imperative for him to have a worthy assistant who can monitor and keep him up to date with his activities. This position is flexible and you can be in any location, working with him is basically about instructions and following them. There is also a very sensitive issue on trust and accountability which I believe will resolve itself as time goes on.

He is looking for someone that can be trusted and reliable to work very well with good understanding. We are establishing a new office location in your area which you will be a part of the team upon completion. This position is a part time position for now and flexible and it will be full time upon putting the office in place. He will be need your services 2-3 times weekly which should be about 10-12 hours weekly with salary of $400 per week. We will set up a formal interview as soon as possible.
