My wife ordered a "try before you buy" sample of LifeCell in November. Postage was charged and then in Dec the full $189 also charged to her card.
The lifecellskin.com site is designed to suck the customers in. A shonky site at the least.
The order page at https://www.lifecellskin.com/SpecialOffer/order.php?tempOrderId=1118472 does include "Trial Terms" and does say (in smallprint) "By submitting this order I confirm I am a new customer and have read and agree to the terms and conditions." Just above the great big "Rush My Trial!" button.
BUT no requirement to tick that statement,ie no clear opt-in.
Also the "Trial Terms" are lengthy and it is only at the end of paragraph two that they say ". . . keep it past the 30 Day Trial period, your original form of payment will be charged $189.00 for the two-month supply of LifeCell. "
Then at the start of paragraph four the next killer: "Free enrollment to the LifeCell VIP Replenishment Service: For your convenience you will be signed up automatically to our popular VIP Replenishment Service. This entitles you to receive a fresh supply of LifeCell every 60 days at the discounted rate of $149. International Customers will be billed $14.50 for shipping and handling fees."
Again automatic. No opt-in. So they are going to automatically charge you $149 per month.
