I meet a solider who was stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan. I looked him up on the Army website and he seemed to be legit. We exchanged emails and phone numbers. We talked about everything, and he promised he would be home soon and we could start a life together. He then said that he was going on a special mission and needed a T2 satellite device that cost a little over 700 dollars and that we would soon talk to each other. Then he said that he had broken 2 of the devices and need me to send money to replace them. He emailed me a copy of his enlistment paper and other information I needed to send the money through western union to pay for the device. He said that his device wasn't working properly but he could text on it but not talk on it. I called the number a few times and it had a woman's voice on the voice mail and was a Florida's number. After I sent everything, he then asked for my information to send to his brother whom he was not able to contact when he need the money for the device, and said that his brother felt bad that I had to put up the money and that he would reimburse for the money I'd sent. He asked for my name, address, D.O.B., bank account#, routing#, name of the bank, the banks address, my online user name and password. I then knew it must have been a scam. Thank God I didn't send that information. I hope someone in the real army knows that there are people posing as soldiers. The persons name was Robert Norton. His name on locate your love was [email protected]
