We got a call from Heather of MCM Merchandising telling us that a friend of ours had given us a gift certificate to have our floors cleaned! Since it was the holidays, we did not question the "gift", though the person who gave it to us is a customer of ours and we thought it odd but thoughtful. We scheduled Dec. 5, 2013 for our cleaning. It became clear right away this was not for a cleaning, but for a demo of a vacuum cleaner. Long story, I NEVER heard of Kirby, was not aware of their reputation. We (Rick Steven's- home-owner) against his better judgement allowed them to proceed with the demo. They spent at least 2 hours with us and though Rick said no, I wanted it. Facts: We were not verbally advised of the three day cancellation policy. I have a disability so we tried utilizing their "Golden Ager/Disability clause to return it. Our request has been denied both by MCM Merchandising and Kirby stating that only the person named on the contract can be the disabled party. He purchased it for me paying $1600.00 in cash, and gave 50.00 each to the salesman, due to feeling sorry for them. I am trying to get our money back!
