My car broke down so I called my insurance company for roadside assistance. I was told I would have an hours wait. Two and a half hours later hr showed up. I called several times and got a different story each time. Truck broke down, stuck in traffic etc. So I asked him why it took so long and he said miscomunication with the dispatcher. He then said I have to pay him $20.00 cash or American Express. I said I have $15.00 and no American Express. He got on the phone and finally said are you ready to go. I panicked because I thought he wasnt going to tow me. At this point I thought he called and got an ok to forgive the $20.00 charge. He pulled up in fromt of my house and said "How do you want to pay the $20.00? I repeated I have $15.00 cash and no American " Express. He then says "Maam I will impound your car if you do not pay. I went through my credit cards again and realized my Bamk of America was American Express which I do not use often. So he got paid and left. I have cancelled the $20.00 charge with American Express and am dealing with my insurance company who said they wont use them again. I'm a 66 year old female and being stranded and traumatized made me an easy prey for scum like them. I will not pay them any pending amounts for their tow.
