I applied online for a payday loan and Payday Loans America call me and told me I had been approved for a $2000.00 loan. After they had verified my information I was instructed to go to a 7-eleven, RadioShack or a CVS and purchase a Green Dot Money Card for the amount of $200 as a Good faith Deposit. Once the loan is deposited to my account I would get the $200 back. I didn’t have enough money on me to purchase the card so the rep told me to get the card for $195 instead. The Rep told me they would call me back in 30 min to confirm the deposit was made. He did call back but only to say in order for me to receive the loan I would have to pay another $185 for the wire transfer fee. So I did. Rep told me he would call in 15 to 30 minutes he did but only to tell me that the 2nd Green Dot Money Card was locked and I would have to purchase another one for $185 for the transfer fees or wait 3 business days for the card to unlock. I asked him how could that be, since the first one was not locked and I purchased both cards from the same placed. He told me I must have given the number to someone else and they were trying to use it. I told I didn't give that number to anyone and he said "Well, they must have overheard you when you gave me the number and they are trying to use it.” This is not true no one was around me when I gave Adam the rep the number. Now I'm waiting on a call back form Adam. He said he would see what he could do. I'm not very hopefully my Christmas was already bad. I wasn't able to buy and gifts, but at least was able to put some gas in my car and buy some groceries (not Christmas dinner just groceries) now I can't even do that. After I called back and spoke with Adam and told him I didn’t won’t the loan just my money back he give me his “guarantee” I would get a refund for the full amount within a few hours. That never happened.
