Same m/o as most of these scam artists. They load malware / spyware on your computer then call you to say they are from M/soft and can fix the problem. They then try to sell you a 12 month $129 security pack 2 years for $249 3 for $399 etc.
If you tell them no they then offerto just do a one off clean up to remove all the malicious stuff for $9 !
As soon as you agree they direct you the the "secure" server to pay the $9.
They then immediately steal your card details and lodge the charge at $399 or whatever.
So,absolute outright fraud - the sort of thing that puts people behind bars. Let's hope we can get a couple of them some time in the grey bar hotel.
Of course they can then say that you misunderstood what they were offering.
They also target older people of course being the filthy lowlife maggots they are.
Try to tape them if you get the opportunity.
