My partner was told that we could get a visa to Canada so she put down $625 Australian dollars as a down payment but we then thought that maybe my job would be easier to gain a visa so we changed it so that I am the main applicant. They rang up and said that it would cost another $500 to make a CV for myself. I said that I could get someone else to make my CV for only $50 and they replied saying that the CV can only be done through them. At that moment I realised that this was a scam and any evil company like that should be destroyed.

Hi James, was this the Sydney branch in Australia? Do you remember who you were talking to / dealing with?
What specific Visa were you (or your partner) applying for?
Have they responded to you regarding a refund?
Any help would be appreciated as I haven't done any business with IXP yet and obviously the more you know the better especially as it was so recent! -
