I had a phone call from a man calling himself Jim Mason, stating he was from a company called Lead Campaign Services, and he got my name from Vianet Training, [who I had signed up for internet marketing training, some time previous]. He said he was selling training website bundles.
Knowing that Vianet was doing this, I didn't think anything of it, I assumed that this part of Vianet was now under a different name. The price of the bundle was US$1100, which was around the price of the Vianet bundle, I had previously spoken to Vianet about. I had just got my tax return back, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to go ahead with it. I arranged to pay in 2 instalments, plus a $25 fee for doing so. I paid $625.00 on the 07/13/2011, with the balance to be paid in 180 days.
I never received the websites, and after a few back and forth emails, lodged a claim with Paypal. I won the case, but they said don't expect to get my money back, as Paypal will probably never be able to get it. I have not heard anything since then.

  • I had the same experience. I also am a client of Vianet Training and was called by Jim Mason of Lead Campaign Services. His knowledge of my history with Vianet Training and his soft-sell, no-pressure approach made him seem completely credible as someone acting on behalf of Vianet. He took me for $677.54.

  • I guess I too am part of the growing list whom have been scammed by Lead Campaign Services. My caller's name was Greg Sam and he too had all sort of information about my Vianet training. It bothers me that PayPal said 45 days was the time frame to file a claim and yet I am seeing that this issue goes back several months. Apparently they too are not aware of this ongoing scam. They may now, but I am out 2150.00 dollars.
